Bob Watel has been sketching ideas since childhood and has spent his adult life in art and design. He earned a BFA in Industrial Design and a Master of Architecture degree. His work experience in architecture and illustration includes 16 years as head of the Illustration Department at HOK Architects.

In 1992 he formed Watel Design Communication to offer architectural illustration in many styles, mediums, and levels of finish, to communicate ideas at all phases of the design process. His illustrations have been widely published and have won awards.

He is a member and serves as a regional coordinator for the ASAI-The American Society of Architectural Illustrators.
